We are searching for new members in the Process Support area of our Technology Operations team, which also includes Sustaining Engineering, Technical Support, and Manufacturing. We are a rowdy group of nerds who love to talk in movie quotes, throw trivia challenges at each other, and exchange recipes/notes on favorite restaurants (we are proud foodies). We volunteer together every quarter, and do fun things like bowling, escape rooms, electronic games, and toasting our successes at the local watering hole.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, support and troubleshoot thin film processes in the ophthalmic industry (box coaters and/or sputter coaters). This will be a mix of phone and at customer site.
- Assess and suggest improvements for customers’ equipment maintenance, modernization, and procedures.
- Provide customer training.
- Promote Quantum customer service.
- Travel throughout North America, including some to Canada and Mexico. Travel can often occur at short notice, but for a limited time (14 days or less).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Fit with Quantum Core Values (Attitude of Servitude, All in the Same Boat, Belief in the Individual) and Core Purpose (Be Servants, Be Fun, Be Experts, Be Knowledge Givers, Be Disruptive).
- Thin film deposition.
- Mechanical or electrical or chemical engineering, or physics (note the “OR”; not all of them).
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts, statistical process control and problem solving.
- Prior knowledge of vacuum coating a plus.
- Able to deal directly with customers and work under pressure.
- Can prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines with little supervision.
- Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Eager to learn and provide high quality service.
- Able to work as a contributing member of a team.
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel.
